While many skills are essential in this new leadership era, empathy is one standing above the rest.
Effective communication is at the heart of effective leadership. James Humes famously said, “The art of communication is the language of leadership.” Bad leaders not only struggle with the proper amount of communication, but they often leave their team members confused instead of clear.
But tough times come upon us for a reason. They come to teach, instruct, and to make us better. This doesn’t mean tough times are easy or aren’t without real struggle, pain, and even suffering. But it doesn’t have to end there.
Open your eyes to the opportunities that this pandemic may lend us. The best leaders use this time, to be successful in the future. It’s what I have started to refer to as “Grind Time.”
